You hear it all the time—this business is family oriented, everyone knows everyone, great work environment, etc. You hear it enough (and experience enough of the opposite) to believe it’s just the standard, disingenuous fluff every company says to new recruits. You might even believe America’s Preferred Home Warranty (APHW) is like that, too… until you get a job there.
Denise had a friend recruit her to APHW in July of 2017. “Rusty [Call Center Operations Manager] knew I was unhappy at my former job, and my friend Michelle had me submit my resume online and email Rusty to let him know of my interest,” she said.
After a quick interview process, Denise started her paid training only days later. “There were seven or eight of us, and Beth [the trainer] was so nice,” she said. “It’s a lot of information, but the trainers and managers are so supportive and encouraging, and you’re always learning something new around here.”
It Really Is
On top of the typical recruiting fare of great benefits, PTO, and opportunities for advancement, APHW advertises their family-style atmosphere because, frankly, it’s the honest truth.
“When my husband passed, I was shocked to get a visit from the CEO, and then the owner of the company called to give me his condolences, too,” Denise said. “Everybody was so nice. They gave me time, and when I called in, I was always told that everything was fine and my job would still be here—they just wanted to make sure I was okay,” she said.
“They truly care about their employees, and everyone here truly cares about each other. We really work as a team here,” Denise said.
See For Yourself

Full time positions start at $13/hour and feature all the benefits mentioned earlier, plus medical/dental/vision and paid holidays. “It’s really a wonderful place to work at,” Denise said. “And it’s such a joy helping people out!”
