What’s your impression of working in a call center? Does it make you think of family? Warmth? People wanting you to grow and excel? No?
Funny, that’s how America’s Preferred Home Warranty (APHW) Customer Service Representatives (CSR) see it.
“I’m not sure what I expected, but it certainly wasn’t anything like what I’ve come to discover two years down the road,” said CSR Shawna. “I worked for a call center previously, and that was nothing like this. You get a family feel here. You’re not just another face that comes to work and sits at a desk—people enjoy seeing you here. Just the atmosphere alone makes it worth working here.”
Beyond the atmosphere, Shawna added that there’s plenty of room to grow at APHW. “I escalated quite quickly, and I feel like I’ve grown exponentially,” she said. “I really feel that one day my goal to become a supervisor here will become a reality.”
APHW recently recognized Shawna’s dedication to her job, announcing her as the November Employee of the Month. “It was a complete surprise, and an amazing feeling!” she said. “I was actually on a phone call when the email came in, or I probably would have cried. I definitely want to acknowledge the leaders before me, for not giving up on me and showing me that anything is possible through hard work and dedication.”
Shawna strongly recommends working at APHW, especially to those who avoid call center jobs. “Don’t knock it ‘til you try it,” she joked, then added, “I thought it would be just another call center job, but it’s so much more than that. Don’t be afraid to try something new: I knew zero of what we do here coming in, and they gave us all the tools and knowledge we needed to succeed.”
