Wouldn’t it be nice if good customer service could actually lead somewhere, maybe to a real career? But that’s just a dream… except it isn’t. Alan is living proof, having jumped from Customer Service Supervisor to Operations Manager when America’s Preferred Home Warranty (APHW) expanded into an additional building.
Objective & Fair
“I applied because I was excited about the growth of the company, and because I had past experience in a similar position,” Alan said. He ran against several applicants and appreciated APHW’s goal to promote based on merit and experience.
“APHW has a very fair process, and it’s overwhelming and gratifying that they chose me,” he said. “I’m just thankful they had the confidence in me to offer this opportunity.”
Keeping the Culture
Alan faced some concern on how to bridge the two locations into one company and culture. “Management has just been exceptional in ensuring we remained one team,” he said. “Everything we needed has been provided, their open-door policy is outstanding, and any concerns I might have are immediately addressed. They’ve been a great support.”
He truly believes the APHW family culture is what makes people want to come to work at the company. “It’s such a good family atmosphere, and I think employees perform better because they feel that,” Alan said.
America’s Preferred Home Warranty is recruiting for several open customer service positions, particularly for someone with bilingual Spanish skills.
